Kristina & Tobias’s flat

Alterations to create a larger living area and an additional bedroom in the lower ground floor flat in a mid-terrace, five-storey, early Victorian house in the Boltons Conservation Area in Earls Court for a young couple.

The original plan of the flat was relatively narrow, but deep and dark.

The scheme maximises the use of the space, creates an additional bedroom and connects living areas with the back patio and raised, south facing garden. The project is an example of 'living at the back' with a shower room and walk-in wardrobe in the central, darkest area of the flat. The natural flow and connection of spaces has been achieved by introducing a bespoke joinery unit along the corridor incorporating a bench with a shoe cupboard, cupboards, a dressing counter with a mirror, and shelving.
